Just Below Bronze

Tell your story.

Sounds simple enough but, try sometime, it’s not all that easy.

A few years ago while watching the Olympics with my family, we asked if we were to be a medal which one would we be? Answers varied. Mine was the most obscure.

“Just below bronze”, I said.

The looks were as you would expect. Strange Dad. Then I went on to describe my logic: I don’t need a medal to prove I made it.

I’m not saying I wouldn’t want to win, but that outcome isn’t where I find the greatest satisfaction. I don’t want to set myself up for something where that is more likely than not to fall short. To me, I find greater value in the process of getting there and that describes the feeling behind my reply.

Reaching deep into yourself and exposing what makes up your core is a challenging thing to do, much yet admit. To me, that is what this project is about. Better yet, this entire site is driven by that same motivation. I thought it was time to share the process I’m so involved with.

This journal is aptly named Just Below Bronze and summarized in the video below. I welcome you to follow along and hope you enjoy it.
