I am a self-guided artist
but really just a guy that loves to make stuff
To say I am self-taught is not accurate as there is nothing inherently new about the creative endeavors I enjoy. All of my experience is driven by insatiable curiosity to learn and draws from all artists before me that were kind enough to pass down their knowledge. I put in the work to process and apply that knowledge at my own guided pace.
So, if you seek a strong pedigree and academic credentials, I am not your guy. However, if you seek a passionate creative who looks to constantly grow through genuine relationships and new endeavors, I’m for you. Let’s create something meaningful together!

time to tell my story!
I’m based in central north carolina
… but I’ll travel anywhere for the sake of curiosity
The thing I love most about the creative process is the act of making something tangible. Holding a piece of art, observing a compelling photograph, or being immersed in the story on screen allows the viewer to interact with an intimate piece of the artist. There is great vulnerability in that process; however, the reward of genuine expression received in its most authentic way will forever motivate me to continue being expressive in ways that make me whole.
More generally, though, I find great joy being curious about something then figuring out how to do it. Just try! I find excitement in that process and fill my life with these elements and opportunities to explore. Being motivated by intrepid self-study is a constant theme in my life. It’s my natural side.
confessions of randomness
-
Led Zeppelin IV, U2 Joshua Tree, Bruce Springsteen Born To Run, Beastie Boys Licensed To Ill, Pearl Jam Ten
Honorable Mention: Van Halen 5150 - yeah, I know VH1 and 1984 are better but 5150 was the first CD I ever bought and holds several anthems of my youth
-
Random song lyrics, especially from my youth
-
Anytime O.A.R. is playing
-
Toss up: photo tour to capture northern lights or see a favorite band at Red Rocks

Finding my wife in the middle of a major stroke (that she has thankfully fully recovered from)
-
Many years ago, I was a residential construction project manager. Yeah, I built houses, including the one Lori and I still live in. I enjoyed the process of making something tangible, but also putting in “sweat equity” on many of the trades.
-
First I ever saw in theater: ET
Favorite: Shawshank Redemption
-
Pat Conroy, hands down
-
The menu would only include smoked brisket and pork, mac & cheese, and carrot cake (all house specialties)
-
Almost literally ran into Robin Thicke at LAX airport - I didn’t even know it was him at first
-
Colorado fall yellow aspen trees, Yellowstone Lower Falls, Southern California coastline sunset, Ireland Cliffs of Moher, Germany Heidelberg Castle at night, Grand Canyon/Sedona
-
Nearly anything - but to point out a variety of genres, here are artists I’d listen to anything from : Gregory Alan Isakov, OAR, Led Zeppelin, Angles & Airwaves, Chris Stapleton, Bruce Springsteen, Van Halen, Dave Matthews, heck, even add in Adele
-
Love a good bourbon (and am willing to barter for it!)
-
Anything with the caveat I realized I’m not a very good athlete long ago - I wish I was a better golfer
-
Cal Ripken, Jr.
-
Was on a plane with my wife and newborn son en route to San Antonio at the exact moment of the 9/11/2001 terrorist attacks - we were forced to divert to Houston where we were met with utter chaos
-
Rode olympic bobsled in Park City, UT
Thank you!!
